What is rafting?

Rafting is a recreational activity utilizing a raft to navigate a river or other bodies of water.This is usually done on whitewater or different degrees of rough water. For rafting it is necessary to have a group of 6-10 people and at least one experienced guide (skipper) who knows how to handle the white water rafting. You also need a raft boat and the appropriate equipment.

Rafting is divided by the strenght of the river and type of boat that we use. There are gradations of the river in categories I. - VI. Category I. - calm river just like a lake, and category VI. - ussualy impossible to pass without a flip.

Rafting on Mrežnica?

On Mrežnica river we have few sections. The upper section of Mrežnica consists of several waterfalls height of up to 10 m. Waterfalls creates pools of warm water between them which makes perfect refreshment away from the coast and beach crowd. Rafting/kayaking on river Mrežnica takes from 2 - 4 hours and has elements of Canyoning (slides, waterfalls, jumping off high cliffs, walking through the canyon of the Mrežnica). Big waterfalls you can pass somewhere with natural water slide, jumping into the lower pool or walking around the cascade but some travertine barriers we can cross by boat. Boats skippers mostly must throw from high barriers. Middle river sections consists a lot of travertine barriers not heigher from 3 m. The sections are good for peacefully family paddle tour with swimming, showering under the waterfalls and fun. Exceeds the 15 waterfalls. Rafting on Mrežnica most interesting is the stunning nature, waterfalls and its canyon. Water color changes from lake to lake due to specific sources (springs).

When is possible to raft on Mrežnica?

Rafting is possible only for high water level in spring and late fall. In summer the river is most ideal for kayaking / canoeing with inflatable boats. from 1.6. to 1.10. We are available and in a week. The temperature in parts of the river is up to 26 ° C in summer while in areas where the sources of about 10 ° C. For rafting in Kupa Sports arrangements should be minimum 4 and maximum of 50 persons.

Who can come on rafting?

Rafting on river Mrežnica is quite safe. Everyone between 7 and 60 years can choose go on a rafting trip. Previous experience is not necessery, persons with deisabilities are also welcom because physical and moter skills are not necessary.

If you are a group of women on a bachelorette party or a group of men on a bachelor party that won´t be a problem for us. Kindergarten groups and groups of teenagers will be a challenge for us. For thoes kind of groups we will pick a calmer route and we suggest the trip in the term 1.6 - 1.9. Minors who arrives without their parents must bring a signed parantal consent with which they give consent that their child is allowed to attend our arranged rafting trip.
