When you book a trip, you will receive a booking confirmation if the trip goes as planned. In case there are not enough participants to organize the trip, or in case of extreme weather conditions, we will offer you an alternative date or you will receive a full refund.

- Clothes in layers that dry quickly: cotton or wool socks, jacket, long-sleeved T-shirt, short-sleeved T-shirt, long or short pants.
Sun cap if necessary, gloves, spare clothes for changing. All this depends on the current weather conditions.
Note: Avoid wearing cotton clothing, which is the healthiest for our body, but in this case, when we sweat a lot due to increased physical activity, cotton retains moisture and makes you feel cold. - Water, min. 1l per person

Tour description
Snježnik is a mountain nearby the city of Rijeka, on the edge of the "Gorski Kotar" plateau. Its peak is located at 1506 m above sea level and is one of the most beautiful in Croatia. From you have a wonderful view of the Kvarner islands (Krk, Cres and Lošinj), the Gulf of Rijeka, Istria, its highest peak Učka and Slovenian Snežnik. To the southwest you can see Veliki Risnjak, Velika Kapela, and behind it the Velebit mountain range. Provided clear weather and good visibility, you can see the Kamnik-Savinj Alps in Slovenia.
The starting point of our tour is in the sports and recreation center Platak (1100 m.a.s.l.), which is easily reached from Rijeka, Zagreb, Istria and Slovenia. We meet at 10:00 a.m. in the parking lot next to the weather information panel. The duration of the hike to the top is about 1.5 hours, which depends on the speed of the group. For the most part, the path leads us through deep, beech forest, except for the top part where open mountain meadows prevail. The flora of that region has adapted to the harsh winter climatic conditions, being able to withstand summer heat, snow and strong storms without difficulty. In the summer months, along the path we may come across large bushes of forest raspberries.
The very accessibility and picturesque beauty of the Snježnik massif and its untouched nature right next to Risnjak National Park, with open mountain views and the possibility of creating beautiful landscape photos, turns this trip into a real adventure for both children and adults.
The return from the top takes about 1 hour, which also depends on the speed of the group.
If desired, we can make more demanding tours, visiting several peaks. (E.g.: Platak-Snježnik-Guslica-Platak or Platak-Risnjak-Snježnik-Platak, etc.) In case of visiting the national park Risnjak, an additional entrance fee is required.
